I'm pleased to share with you the Ofsted Report following the inspection conducted in April.

Since our initial inspection in 2023, the staff have shown tremendous dedication, and I’m delighted to report that our rating has improved. While we recognise there is still progress to be made, we are clearly heading in the right direction.

I’m incredibly proud of both our staff and students for the positive strides they continue to make together.

OFSTED - Update

Ofsted Progress Monitoring Report November 2023

Dear Parents/Carers/Stakeholders

Ofsted Monitoring Visit Inspection Report

I am pleased to share with you the feedback from our latest Ofsted Monitoring Inspection which took place on 14.11.2023. The Section 8 monitoring visit was conducted to determine the progress that has been made since our first full inspection in February 2023.

The report confirms that all our hard work and dedication in implementing changes are having a positive impact across the school. Inspectors were pleased with our developments in curriculum, safeguarding, behaviour for learning and the teaching of students with Special Educational Needs.

Some highlights:

  • Leaders had started to develop the design and breadth of the curriculum. They had implemented some of the actions outlined in their plans. These schemes of work and the specialist teachers were helping pupils to make progress and to learn in these core subjects. Furthermore, pupils were accessing appropriate qualifications in key stage 4 English and mathematics.
  • Leaders had also created some curriculum pathways for pupils in different age ranges and stages of ability. They had introduced schemes of work, in a common format, for a wider range of subjects.
  • All leaders and staff had received up-to-date and appropriate safeguarding training. They were knowledgeable about the government’s statutory guidance. Staff had a shared understanding of how to report safeguarding and welfare concerns. These were acted on and recorded in a timely way.
  • It was evidenced that leaders had implemented all their outlined actions swiftly and effectively. All required checks for all staff were in place and up to date. New, rigorous policies and procedures for safer recruitment were in place, as well as new human resources systems for maintaining staff records.

It is great to have Ofsted’s recognition of the improvements that have been made by all staff with the support of the school community.

I will continue to work with the whole staff across the school pressing ahead with our school improvement priorities. Ofsted has identified the key area Quality of Education for us to focus on:

  • Embed the new curriculum plans and recent improvements to special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) practice to provide a consistently strong quality of education for all students across all year groups.

I hope you will enjoy marking this successful next step in the school’s journey with us. You are a key part of our achievements to date, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.

OFSTED - 2023

Ofsted Report February 2023

Dear Parents/Carers/Stakeholders

On Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th February 2023, This Is My Education (TIME) underwent an OFSTED inspection. We have received the report and judgement from the visit and would like to share it with you. Please read this letter alongside the report.

Despite only being fully open since September 2022, our newly embedded staff team worked hard and continues to work extremely hard for every student who is facing a difficult journey back to education since the outbreak of COVID. We acknowledge that we have received an 'inadequate' grade, but we want to assure you that we take this judgement seriously and are actively working to address all areas of improvement. To this end, we have already developed a school improvement plan that will support us in meeting the OFSTED standards on our next inspection.

The report highlighted the wider vocational curriculum we offer and the range of positive experiences we provide to support our students' ongoing additional SEND needs. Additionally, it commended the high-quality provision we offer for personal development for SEND children. We want to assure you that we care deeply about the safeguarding and education we provide for all students. We have taken swift action to implement the recommendations in the report and are committed to making the necessary improvements. Please if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Next steps:

Moving forward, we want to assure you that we are taking the feedback from the Ofsted inspection seriously and are committed to addressing all the identified issues with urgency. We are working closely with the local authority and other organisations to ensure that the necessary improvements are made swiftly.

We understand that this news may be concerning for you, and we want to reassure you that we are always available to discuss any concerns you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the senior leadership team to address any questions or worries you may have after reading the report. Finally, we want to reiterate that your children are our top priority, and we will continue to provide them with the best possible education and support. While we recognise that there is still work to be done, we are proud of what we have achieved so far and are dedicated to moving This Is My Education forward for the benefit of our students.
